Part-time Custodian

Bethany Chapel requires a part-time custodian to provide additional back-up relief and supplementary assistance to permanent custodial positions.  This part-time role is normally called upon during the weekend to provide custodial service when the Chapel is in use on Saturdays and/or Sundays.

While it is not possible to define the job duties, they will normally include some or all of the following:

• Opening church entrances in preparation for Bethany or rental events
• If walks and/or front roadway are snowy or icy, removing snow and spreading sand and/or deicer in time to ensure safety for people arriving for events
• Room set-up as defined in the facility calendar or as arranged with the Head Custodian.  Ensure room temperature is comfortable.
• Maintenance and Custodial duties which may include:
      - Vacuuming floors
      - Cleaning washrooms
      - Emptying garbage or recycling containers
      - Set-up or take-down for subsequent events and activities
